A new way in: “The Last Good Day”
The campaign now opens with a short playable prologue. You begin with a fully equipped base and every technology unlocked: build a tank column, bring in a gunship and break the outer defences of an enemy fortress.
Then the expected victory collapses. Your army and technology are lost, and the main campaign begins with the survivors. Everything you had must be earned again.
The prologue can be skipped, but the button requires a second click so it cannot be skipped accidentally.
Generals who talk back
- Rival generals now meet in face-to-face dialogue before and during key moments.
- Animated portraits and voices are available in English, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
- Every supported interface language includes subtitles.
- Missions 2 and 3 now include additional radio chatter and step-by-step guidance.
A smoother first hour
- New players enter the story directly; training remains available from the main menu.
- Iron Road has a shorter $3,000 ore objective and a clearer choice between safe and rich deposits.
- Support vehicles introduced in Copper Crossing can now be built during the mission.
- Units ordered somewhere unreachable move as close as possible or report that no route exists.
- Attack-move and patrol orders no longer leave part of the group behind.
- Finished units can be scrapped from the ready tray for a refund.
- Damaged aircraft can be repaired at the helipad.
- Buildings can no longer be placed over walls.
More feedback and sharper visuals
Ore deliveries now display the amount above the refinery, the credits counter animates and unaffordable orders flash red. Buildings land with dust and weight, while smaller battles receive subtle screen shake.
Campaign films and menu backgrounds are sharper, including 4K campaign films on High graphics. Shared unit portraits, rubble, road endings and rocks have also been improved.
